Intermittent fasting

Updated: October 25, 2026

Intermittent fasting (e.g. 16/8 — eating within an 8-hour window) is one way to cut calories. At equal calories it doesn't burn more fat than a normal diet; it suits people who find it convenient.

  • Split protein over 2–3 meals in the window (30–50 g each).
  • Train inside the window or near its start.
  • Water, tea and black coffee are fine while fasting.

Not recommended with diabetes, ulcers, eating disorders, in pregnancy or for teens.

General sports-nutrition guidance, not medical advice. If you have a condition, are pregnant or take medication, check with your doctor first.
