Common questions

When to take vitamins and what to combine

Updated: October 25, 2026

Simple rules:

  • With food: multivitamins, vitamins D, A, E, K, omega-3 (fat-soluble).
  • Morning: B vitamins, anything with caffeine.
  • Evening: magnesium, ZMA, casein, melatonin.
  • Iron — with vitamin C, 2 hours apart from tea, coffee, milk and calcium.
  • Calcium, iron, zinc — apart from each other (they compete for absorption).
  • Creatine, protein — timing doesn't matter, consistency does.

If you take medication (especially blood thinners, thyroid hormone, antibiotics), agree supplements with your doctor.

General sports-nutrition guidance, not medical advice. If you have a condition, are pregnant or take medication, check with your doctor first.
